Did you know that 85-90% of materials thrown out during a remodel could be reused or recycled?
Remodeling doesn’t have to be a wasteful process. Those piles of wood, drywall, tiles, etc. that stack up during demolition don’t have to wind up in landfills! You can donate or recycle the waste from your remodel and thus save the planet from exposure to more greenhouse gases and keep the landfills a little less full.
Donating and recycling the waste from your remodel does take a bit more time and work. Talk to your contractor about your wish to recycle and/or reuse so they can carefully construct a plan to take apart full structures and keep old appliances intact — rather than a full demo.
